Use PayPal Shopping Cart
September 21, 2007 ·
Do you have between one and twenty products which you would like to sell on your website.
If you don’t have a huge budget, don’t want to have an eftpos machine on your premises and don’t want to pay bank fees on credit card payments, PayPal’s free Shopping Cart is a good option for you.
You need to setup a free Pay Pal account, then create custom buttons for each product you want to sell. The code for these buttons is pasted into your website code and hey presto… you have a professional and secure shopping cart which calculates your orders, adds shipping and gives customers the option to pay with their credit card.
The money goes into your PayPal account minus a 45 cent transaction fee and between 2.4 and 3.4% of the total (less than you would be paying your bank on credit card transactions). You can then transfer your money to your bank account whenever you are ready.

You can also paste your shopping cart button code into an email. This is great for sales emails to promote a new product you want customers to purchase immediately. You can send to a customer who has ordered something by phone or email and wants to pay by credit card. You could also include a button for a product on the same email as you reply to an enquiry about that product. The possibilities are endless.
PayPal works seamlessly with the WP E-Commerce plugin for WordPress.
