Your Brand on an Amazon Store
March 22, 2008 ·
Once you become an Amazon associate, one of the selling options available to you is to setup your own aStore.
This is a fully functional shop selling Amazon products but with your own branding and logo. This can appear as a stand-alone shop (see example) in which case it will have an Amazon address, or inside your website (see example) in which case it will have your address, logo and branding. Some other great features of aStore are:
- ability to add your own comments to every category and product
- automatic navigation including a link to your own website
- options to show Similar Items or Wish List items on the sidebar
I have just setup by own aStore selling books, toys, dvds, clothing etc for little boys. It took me just over an hour, and is integrated into my website. Visit my new aStore…
You may not have realised but Amazon sells everything from books to clothing to computers to toys to kitchenware etc etc. If your market is the US or international, this is a quick easy and proffessional way to setup a great affiliate website. Click on the banner below and then on the Associates link at the bottom of the page to join Amazon’s affiliate program.
Setup your own Amazon aStore
- Join the Amazon Associates Program (details above)
- Click on aStore link on left of Amazon Associates page
- Click on the Add an aStore button
- Choose colours, navigation panels you like
- Add an About Us page and link to your website
- Add a Category, give it a name and description, then add individual products
- Use the drop down search box to find products, then click on add product to add to your store
- Click on the thumbnail versions of the products to give each one your own review/description and change the order they appear.
Multiple Currencies
If you plan to sell items to both New Zealand and international customers, you can insert a simple javascript (see comments section below for the code) onto your web pages asking customers to choose their currency. Depending on their selection, they are then taken to your aStore (US$ customers) or your NZ$ store. Remember that Amazon also has a website for the UK as well as other countries which may be more relevant to your target audience. All of these sister sites allow you to create aStores.
You can have up to 100 aStores on your account and can edit and add products so easily, you’ll wonder why you hadn’t tried it before. I just wish there was something so easy to use for New Zealand products I would like to sell…

[...] Find out more about getting your own Amazon aStore… [...]
I’ve recently set up 2 Amazon a-stores for the UK and USA Amazons. I also want to list New Zealand sourced products on my new site http://www.whangarei-travel.co.nz for browsers who are based in New Zealand (from sources such as Fishpond and Real Groovy). What can you suggest as the best way to have links to identical products in NZ$, US$ and UKP where there are different sources. I think NZ$ should be my main currency and product source. I don’t want to confuse people or lose their interest because I have made the process to confusing. Help!!!
Hi Karen,
I like the way you have linked your UK and US Amazon aStores. I would suggest first incorporating your aStore into your website instead of having it as a stand alone site. This is just a matter of pasting code into a table on your website. You could include navigation buttons linking to your stores on your website.
Re selling identical products to different markets…I would probably add a drop down menu in javascript where visitors could select their currency and be taken to the correct page to shop.
I will find the script to do this and post it for you. Let me know if you need any help.
There is a simple java script you can use on the Internet.com website. You just paste the code into your webpage, then change the option names and urls, deleting them ones you don’t need. Remember to paste the code in a notepad file first if you are using a program like frontpage to make your website changes.
