YouTube Videos on Your Website

July 9, 2008 ·

Did you know that you can easily display a collection of YouTube videos on your website or blog. You can then add or delete videos on the YouTube website and your website updates automatically.

You could add a collection of video clips you’ve shot yourself showing:

  • your accommodation or shop
  • your products in use or being assembled
  • Before and after shots
  • Your creation process
  • Footage of a show or event you’ve attended
  • Your local area
  • or (shock, horror) yourself

OR you could add a collection of videos which support your sites content, are of interest to your customers or just take your fancy. Read below for step by step instructions on how to create a YouTube playlist to display on your website.

What if I want a certain portion of the video to show up as the display screen and not the default? I hope you will understand what I am trying to say. Eg: I want the screen shot at 2.30 to be the one to be displayed when someone arrives at my page and not the default screen that you tue picks on its own. How can I do that?

When you are logged in to YouTube and go to your playlist, you can choose which thumbnail you want to display and also the order of the video clips.
